The Biggest LSAT Change in Decades
Starting August 2024, the LSAT no longer includes Analytical Reasoning (Logic Games). This is the most significant format change since the test was created in 1948.
The New Format
The current LSAT consists of:
- 2 Logical Reasoning sections (25-26 questions each, 35 minutes per section)
- 1 Reading Comprehension section (4 passages including 1 comparative, ~27 questions, 35 minutes)
- 1 unscored experimental section (either LR or RC)
What This Means for Your Prep
With Logic Games removed, Logical Reasoning now accounts for approximately two-thirds of your scored section. This means LR mastery is more important than ever. Reading Comprehension remains the other third, with comparative passages being a key differentiator for high scorers.
How to Adjust Your Study Plan
Focus your study time on the 16 LR question types and RC passage strategies. The time you would have spent on logic games should be redirected to strengthening your weakest LR areas and building RC speed.
